Development Commissions: Tinubu sends nine names to Senate for ratification

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent the names of
nine appointees for the South West, North Central, and South South Development Commissions to the Senate for confirmation.

This came following the assent to the regional commission bill by president Tinubu in February 2025.

In a letter to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio by the President on Thursday, the appointees were listed as nineteen persons for the North Central Development Commission, with Cosmas Akiyir as chairman and Cyril Yeltsin as managing director.

The South-west Development Commission has eighteen appointees, listing Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi and Dr Charles Akinola as chairman and managing director, in that order while the South South Development Commission has appointed eighteen persons, with Chibudom Nwuche as chairman and Usoro Offiong Akpabio as managing director.

Meanwhile, the nominees will be screened by respective committees before confirmation.
