The Federal Government has fully automated the authentication and evaluation of academic credentials, ending the era of physical verification at the Federal Ministry of Education.
In a statement issued on April 15, 2026, and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the Ministry said the move is in line with its digital reform drive.
“This development aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and its resolve to deploy modern technology to improve efficiency, ensure data integrity, and support evidence-based policy decisions within the education sector,” the statement said.
It added: “With the introduction of the new system, all applications for authentication and evaluation of academic credentials will now be processed strictly online through the Ministry’s official verification portal.”
The Ministry explained that applicants are required to register and upload all relevant supporting documents via the portal, while their institutions are to forward academic transcripts directly from official email addresses for verification and processing.
It stressed that applicants are no longer required to visit the Ministry for physical verification, noting that the entire process will now be conducted electronically.
The Ministry added that the automated platform is expected to simplify procedures, reduce processing time, and strengthen the credibility of academic credential verification in the country.
Applicants were advised to comply strictly with the outlined guidelines to ensure seamless and timely processing.
