Access Bank appoints Orimoloye Executive Director, Risk Management

Access Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Ifedayo Olaniyi Orimoloye as Executive Director, Risk Management of its flagship subsidiary, Access Bank Plc.

 

The appointment, which was approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), takes effect from September 21, 2026.

 

Orimoloye brings more than 25 years of risk management experience across leading financial institutions in Africa, Europe and the United States.

 

According to the company, his expertise covers enterprise risk management, capital optimisation, credit governance, regulatory compliance and strategic transformation.

 

He was previously Group Chief Risk Officer of the African Development Bank (AfDB), where he oversaw a portfolio exceeding $40 billion and supported the institution’s continued AAA ratings from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings.

He also participated in major capital and securitisation transactions, including initiatives aimed at expanding renewable energy access across Africa.

 

Before joining the AfDB, Orimoloye held senior risk leadership positions at Sterling Bank Plc, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Wells Fargo Bank, HSBC and Citigroup.

 

Access Holdings said he led risk transformation, portfolio management and governance initiatives across multiple markets during his career.

 

Orimoloye holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward.

 

Commenting on the appointment, Group Chairman of Access Holdings, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, said Orimoloye’s global risk management experience and strategic leadership would strengthen the bank’s risk governance.

He added that the appointment would support Access Bank’s scale-to-value focus and the group’s long-term value creation agenda.

 

The company said the appointment further reinforces Access Bank’s commitment to strong governance, prudent risk management and sustainable stakeholder value, adding that it was made in line with applicable regulatory requirements and the bank’s corporate governance framework.
