That is the experience of the new terminal at Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.
More than simply expanding capacity, the terminal has been designed around something every traveller values but rarely talks about until it’s missing: ease. Ease of arriving. Ease of checking in. Ease of moving around.

But most importantly, this is a terminal that offers passengers smooth and hassle free flight connections, from domestic to international flights and vice versa, as well as, for the very first time in Nigeria, from international to international flights!

The terminal is good news not just for Akwa Ibom travellers, but travellers from the nearby catchment areas of Aba, Umuahia, Arochukwu, Owerri, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Yenagoa, who now have a compelling reason to rethink where their journeys begin. This is because the closest airport may not necessarily be the one that gives you the best overall travel experience.

Indeed, this new terminal is a facility that’s been deliberately designed to offer an all round respectable and dignifying airport experience to its passengers. This is Victor Attah International Airport’s new terminal!
With the commissioning of this new home-base, hub terminal, Ibom Air’s vision to be a world class, African Regional Airline is now on the fast track to realization. The airline’s ambitious, long term business strategy is now enabled, as it positions to begin operating regional flights throughout the African continent from and through Uyo.
Already, from the 28th of June 2026, Ibom Air began to operate the direct Uyo-Accra flight twice weekly (Sundays and Thursdays). Since then, the facilities and processes for the smooth transfer of passengers have been tested and perfected, with each flight smoothly processing transfer passengers out of Abuja to Accra and vice versa. The feedback from these passengers has been overwhelmingly positive.
The plan is to continue to expand the regional offerings in the months ahead, with connections planned to several central African destinations from Uyo this year. From 2027, this regional footprint will begin to expand far into the rest of the continent, reaching as far as Cape Town, Dar-es Salaam, Nairobi, Kigali, Addis Ababa, Cairo, Tunis, Casablanca, and Dakar.
