The African Democratic Congress has unveiled its timetable for the conduct of its 2026 primary elections, detailing key dates for nomination, screening, appeals, and the primaries for various elective offices.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 11 to May 13.
Screening of aspirants will hold between May 14 and May 15, with results to be released on May 17.
The party added that appeals arising from the screening exercise will be heard from May 18 to May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 20.
According to the timetable, primary elections will begin on May 21, with contests for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and Senate seats taking place simultaneously at the ward level.
Governorship primaries are slated for May 22, while the presidential primary is fixed for May 25.
This will be followed by a National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27 for final ratifications.
The party also announced its nomination fees, pegging the presidential form at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly at N3 million.
With this, the ADC becomes the second party after the All Progressives Congress to fix its presidential and governorship nomination forms at N100 million and N50 million, respectively.
To encourage broader participation, the party said it would offer a 50 per cent discount to youths, and a 25 per cent reduction for women and persons with disabilities.
The ADC urged members, stakeholders, and aspirants to strictly adhere to the timetable and guidelines.
The development comes amid a lingering leadership crisis within the party, despite a recent Supreme Court ruling reinstating a faction led by former Senate President David Mark.
