The Presidency has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the report as a fabrication by purveyors of fake news bent on causing disaffection within the government.
According to the Presidency, there has been no change in the position of the Chief of Staff, stressing that Gbajabiamila remains firmly in office, while Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the President’s Principal Private Secretary.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story. Nigerians are advised to disregard it entirely,” the statement read.
The Presidency cautioned the public and the media against spreading unverified information, urging news organisations to always confirm facts before publishing or sharing content, particularly on social media.
It reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparent communication and warned against deliberate misinformation aimed at undermining public confidence in government.
