Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai has claimed that the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, is paying huge amount of money to bandits to appease them. “I have evidence to prove that Kaduna government has just paid N1 billion to bandits to appease them and stop them from attacking the people”.
Speaking on Channels TV programme, Sunday Politics on Sunday, the former FCT Minister denied the claims that Kaduna State was a lot more insecure under his watch than it is now. El Rufai said his successor, Uba Sani, has resorted to bribing the media to cover up his failures.
On the probe of his administration by the State House of Assembly, El Rufai said the exercise was a hoax and that he’d sued the member of the House of Assembly who alleged that he stole over N400 billion.
“For all the eight years I was governor, the total amount we received was about N980 billion or thereabout. If N400 billion was stolen, there’s no way we would have done all that we did”, he said.
On the 2027 elections, El Rufai said President Tinubu will lose his reelection bid. “There will be either of the two outcomes: either he loses outrightly or there will be a run off and Tinubu will not be on the ballot in the run off because APC will come third”, he said. He said President Tinubu is executing “cronyism of the worst order and it’s the only administration that came into office with the agenda to make money”.
On the pledge by Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi to do one term if elected, he said the approach is ill advised as four year is too small to make a meaningful impact in government.
