The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for its forthcoming ward, local government, and state congresses, as well as its national convention.
In a notice signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, on Sunday, members interested in contesting elective positions were invited to obtain the relevant forms.
The party outlined varying fees for different positions.
At the ward level, the Expression of Interest form costs N2,000, while nomination forms are priced at N10,000 for chairman, N5,000 for secretary, and N3,000 for other officers.
At the local government level, nomination forms cost N40,000 for chairman, N30,000 for secretary, and N10,000 for other positions.
For state offices, the fees are N500,000 for chairman, N300,000 for secretary, and N50,000 for other roles.
For the national convention, each delegate is required to pay N10,000 nomination fee, with every local government expected to produce one delegate.
The party also stipulated nomination requirements, including a N50 non-refundable fee per nominator. Ward chairmanship aspirants must secure 10 nominators, while other ward candidates require five each.
Local government chairmanship aspirants need 20 nominators drawn from across the council area, while other candidates require 10.
At the state level, chairmanship aspirants must secure 50 nominators, with at least one from each local government area, while other positions require 20 nominators each.
The ADC stated that the sale and submission of forms will close on March 27, 2026, warning that late submissions will not be accepted. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 30 to 31.
The exercise follows the party’s earlier release of its timetable, which schedules ward and polling unit congresses for April 7, local government congresses for April 9, and state congresses for April 11. The process will culminate in the national convention on April 14.
